What is a critical attribute needed to lead today? A massive abundance of empathy.
And what is one of the best ways to build trust? Shared experiences.
With both of these facts in mind consider creating a moment of shared humanity and lightheartedness before jumping into your next meeting agenda. Or even better yet, create a standing initial meeting agenda item where sharing on a personal level is invited. Keep in mind some team members, including some of those that identify as fiery red (Insights) or dominant drivers (DiSC), may not be excited to participate in these quick shares. That is okay, let them pass.
Rules of Engagement
Invite a participant to pick a number between 1 and 245.
Use the list below to select the quick share prompt based on the number selected. Note some prompts are more serious, some are more lighthearted. An expanded list that is continually added to can be found here.
As folks introduce themselves (or say hello if already met) they are invited to also answer the selected prompt or question.
Anyone can pass at any time.
Go around once or more at the beginning of the meeting, when you come back from a break, and/or at the end of the meeting.
